1. SOCIAL BUTTERFLY:
1.1. Comment on peers blogs:

– Comment 1 of mine is on Shiyao GO WILD post on MEMEs about Social media. Love it!

– Comment 2 of mine is on Dzine2Learn on “Digital Pioneers” – an old (like 1 week ago) but gold post!

– Comment 3 of mine on Lauren on Week 3 reflection

1.2. Engage with Twitter: I honestly always react to all of the Twitter… I don’t see a reason to why not.

2. SCAVENGER HUNT

(for some strange and miraculous reason, all of the events seem to happen this weekend!)

some of my thoughts while completing the challenge:

  1. posting does not require much effort; however, posting it in an aesthetically pleasing manner that I force myself to follow Instagram standard does (now that i thought about it, i don’t even know where this standard comes from; i just absorb it through years of scrolling through brand Instagram feeds).
  2. Instagram is a mobile-first social media, hence, long-form content just does not work.
  3. NONE of the textbooks have the authors’ social media footprint, as reported by a data of 12 textbook that I have been collected or borrowed throughout the program.
  4. Books written by authors with social media contacts almost always have the intention of building a community rather than simply providing knowledge; I used this logic and eventually found one.
  5. Many public places appear to be more skeptical of social media, or that they are attempting to optimize/find the right community for tit. As an example, The Tube Station used to post their content on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, but they now only use Twitter.
  6. There are undoubtedly more locations that should incorporate social media into their experience, however, they did not. Given their privacy, an internal social channel/intranet appears to be a better solution?
  7. perhaps it is not only the availability of the community that defines its uniqueness, but also the features that connect the community together. Instagram’s neat square feeds definitely appeal to aesthetic lovers, as do Instagram stories for those who enjoy quick-to-create content that combine both visual & short text!

i hope you enjoy this feed as i do!

I find the textbook observation interesting, but not surprising.
On this side of the fence, publishers are always trying to cajole academics into various promotions, using socials, etc. But it doesn’t really happen because people either want to do it and already were or they just don’t.
