it was was a “standard” sunny day in Tallahassee.

after thirty minutes in the red Nissan, Kind and I stopped in front of a small kindergarten on top of a hill.

Angel, an African-American girl, greeted us, introduced us to the school facilities, then pushed the door and walked into the classroom.

“Hello, kids!” – Angel started. Kind and I waved back. the kids who were chatting non-stop suddenly became silent, their gaze slid past Angel to land on “two strangers”. their faces filled with curiosity.

Angel moved on to chat with the children while Kind and I started setting up the filming and recording equipment.

“Do you remember – we learned about the topic – “a different day”?” Angel asked.

“Yes!!!” the children answered in unison, full of excitement.

“So, what will happen on “a different day”?

“Anything can happen!”. some of the children could not sit still anymore and started standing up.

“That’s right – anything can happen!”. Angel smiled.

“Today I have two friends of mind looking forward to meeting you, to chat with each one of you. Are you ready for this?”

“I’m Ready!”
“I can go first!”
“Me too.”
“Can I have a snack first?”

And while Angel was still busy guiding the children, I turned to Kind and quickly whispered, “Hey, I think that one-minute conversation just now was worth more than the three hours I spent learning about the mindset of embracing uncertainty on LinkedIn.”

Kind burst out laughing.

Today continues to be a stormy day with thunderstorm since the early morning. By seven in the evening, everything still shows no sign of stopping.

Hmm – today will be a different day, and on an unusual day, anything can happen.” – I muttered to myself while making bubble tea, preparing for the early meeting.

Reminding myself, thinking myself, speaking to myself, amusing myself.

Thanks for sharing this story. Kids are so receptive to this idea of writing their own adventure story, or rewriting the ending of a story — which is all about a new beginning.
